The Internet browsers have options to store copies of webpages, images, and media for the purpose of faster viewing later.
However, if the option in any browser is set to never update new versions of stored pages, it always display the old copies of webpages even though new versions are available.
To prevent this from happening, the browser option should be configured properly.
Internet Explorer 7
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box appears.
- Select the General tab. In the Browsing history area, select Settings button. The Temporary Internet Files and History Settings dialog box appears.
- In the Temporary Internet Files region, there are 4 options under check for newer versions of stored pages:. Select Automatically.
- Click the OK button to save your changes.
- Click the OK button again to return to the browser.
- Refresh the current webpage by pressing F5 key on the keyboard, clicking the Refresh icon on the browser, or closing and re-opening the page or browser.
Internet Explorer 5 & 6
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box appears.
