ULTRASONIC SEALING FOR VERTICAL FORM FILL SEAL BAGGING

Improve your VFFS and horizontal pouch line performance through increased seal strength, reduced film usage, fast cycle times, unsurpassed seal reliability, and sealing through contaminants. Simple retrofitting to existing machinery as well as new installs can provide these benefits, and sub-assembly components are available for OEMs.

Below, you can see Ultrasonic sealing in action in a short video, an example Return on Investment for common usages, and a list of the many efficiencies this easy-to-adapt technology offers.

BENEFITS
  • Reduced film usage

  • Increased seal strength

  • Fast cycle times

  • Unsurpassed seal reliability

  • Seal through contaminants

  • Safely seal heat sensitive products

  • Reduced hot tack concerns

  • Reduced energy consumed

  • Fast system startup

  • Process control available

  • Bag width

COST JUSTIFICATION | ULTRASONIC CROSS SEAL
  • Typical roll of snack food film contains 3000 linear feet.

  • 3000 feet x 144 square inches per linear foot = 432,000 sq in

  • Film cost is usually 25 cents per 1000 square inches for snack food films

  • 432,000 x .25/1000 = 108$ per roll

If the small chip bags have a ½” cross seal on top & bottom, we can reduce about .90” per bag with a .050” seal bead.  This equates to 2700 linear feet per shift (@ .9” saved per bag running 75 BPM)

  • 2700 feet / 3000 feet per roll = .9 roll per shift

  • .9 roll x $108 per roll = $97.20

  • Film savings of $97.20 per shift.

    • If they run 2 shifts/day @ 6 days/week = $1166.40 per week.

  • If they run 50 weeks / year = $58,320 film savings per year/per bagger

New Markets

Ability to seal through contaminants enables flexible packaging of previously canned or bottled products

Film Savings

Smaller seals, smaller packages, less expensive films

Energy Savings

No heating elements and only draws electrical power for 0.1 seconds per package

Increased Shelf-Life

Tighter seals, fewer leaks, fewer product returns

Reduced Product Scrap

Sealing through contaminants and fewer leaks

Increased Output

No warm-up time, shorter seal times and fewer leaks
